HOW FITTING? - SOLO SHOW - SET LEWISHAM - 2022

We just experienced the unimaginable during the recent pandemic this body of work was made in response to it. I have chosen to work with NHS gowns to create something beautiful out of a tragic reality. Some of the gowns are collected from my own seizures and stays in hospitals and others have been given to me by people which have stories behind them that are too personal to share. Its the constant tension we face in the future of the NHS being privatised, so in a way these paintings have become heroic artifacts and are celebrating a material and the services that we take for granted.

The trampoline frame resembles the constant tension we as humans have to face every day and just making enough money to survive on, with recent food prices rising and the gas and electricity tripling the future is one of high pressure. So there's this need for survivial , the constant bouncing up and to keep our heads above the water,
